Applications

There are two options:

  • apply via a TNA scheme of the ATRIUM project,
  • apply via an open call of MAIA COST action.

Who should apply

We welcome applications from early-career researchers and students who are enthusiastic about exploring the potential of computer vision and machine learning in archaeological research. This school will focus on the practical application of image analysis techniques to archaeological image data, from dataset preparation and model training to evaluation and emerging methods such as vision-language models.

While applicants with prior experience in Python and/or machine learning are encouraged to apply, the first day of the training will be dedicated to the fundamentals of Python for image analysis tasks. Participants should have basic experience with any programming or markup language (e.g. HTML, R, Python or similar) and a general comfort with working in digital environments. No prior experience with Python or machine learning is strictly required, but curiosity and a willingness to engage with technical material are essential.

ATRIUM TNA Scheme

More details about the transnational access scheme (TNA) grants can be found on the ATRIUM Project website.

NoteNote

Only applicants with institutional affiliation outside of the Czech Republic are eligible to receive funding from ATRIUM project due to the trans-national nature of the access to the infrastructure provided by the school.
